Year 6 - Learning at Home
All pupils will receive one piece of English homework and one piece of Maths homework every week. The homework will be in worksheet form and will be stuck into the Maths and English homework books which were provided at the beginning of the year. The homework will support children in practising and developing keys skills from the Year 6 curriculum such as arithmetic, grammar and comprehension. Children should be encouraged to complete their homework independently. Homework will be given out on a Monday or a Tuesday and collected on a Friday by Miss Aminah (6NW) and Mr Ali (6DH).
Spellings: Children will also be given a list of 10 spelling to learn on a Thursday for a test the following Thursday.
Reading: Children are expected to read their reading/library book for 10 minutes every day. If you listen to your child read, please sign their record.
Timetables: Children are expected to know and be able to recall their times tables with fluency and speed. Please test your child on their times tables daily.
