Eastwood Community School is at the heart of the Lawkholme Community and, as such, we are always extremely keen to be as involved as we possibly can in making our area the best it can be. As part of this commitment, we welcome feedback from parents, families, members of the community and visitors in order to streamline our work and make it the best it can be. Should you wish to provide any feedback, please speak to the school office or send us an email so that your feedback can be directed to the most appropriate person in school. We will always try to acknowledge feedback given and update on any changes this may bring about. Please follow the links on the Contact Us page to leave feedback.
Should you wish to raise matters of complaint or concern, then the following procedure should be followed:
- Issues relating directly to the education of your child should be directed in the first instance to the class teacher. If dissatisfied with the response, then they should refer the matter to the Headteacher or Leadership Team.
- Issues relating to the wider running of the school or the conduct of any staff should be directed to the Headteacher or Leadership Team.
- If at any time parents feel dissatisfied with the response of the Headteacher, they should refer issues to the Chair of the Local Governing Body, c/o Eastwood Community School.
- If dissatisfied with the response of the Local Governing Body, a formal complaint may be made to the CEO of Northern Star Academy Trust by following the complaints policy found on the Policies page.
All complaints will be dealt with seriously and fairly without prejudice to you or your child. We hope that any areas of concern will be speedily and effectively dealt with to the satisfaction of all concerned, before minor issues become major problems.
Feedback from pupils, families and staff questionnaires
We would like to thank all those of you who took the time to complete our recent questionnaires (16.11.20). As we always say, your feedback is very important to us. We want to know what we do well so we can do more of it as well as what we could do better. As the saying goes ‘if we don’t know about it, we can’t fix it’. Whilst we send out a questionnaire each year, this is by no means the only way we want to receive your feedback. We are more than happy to speak to you in person, over the phone or by email should you wish to bring things to our attention at any point throughout the year.
We have looked through each one carefully and have collated the main points for you to see below. We hope you will find these as interesting as we did. Where we have had suggestions made about how we could improve, we have added our response at the side. Should you have any further queries, please don’t hesitate to get back in touch.
